Remember our three on Memorial Day 2016

Today Union Fire Company of Blackwood Terrace remembers three (3) of our own who died in active military service. These three young men all died in Vietnam and all lived in the Blackwood Terrace section of Deptford Township. All three either belonged to Union Fire Company or had family in the fire company. Augustus Ponto’s brother Ron and nephew Jason Ponto are active members of the Fire Department today. Guy Schaeffer’s brother Butch was a Lieutenant and a long time member of Union Fire Company and John Rankin’s brother Bob served as President of Union Fire Company and his nephew Robert was a Firefighter as well. Each have a street named after them in Blackwood Terrace. Go to each picture to link to their virtual wall.

Take a few minutes Memorial Day today and give thanks to these three and all who died in active military service to keep us free.
