Tuesday night the Fire Company members unanimously voted for the final four upgrades to the station. These upgrades include the following;
Changing out all 57 light bulbs in the Meeting Room, hall way, kitchen and members room to LED lights. Energy savings alone will be over $250.00 per year and will pay for the bulbs in 2 years. Each bulb has an guaranteed life of 8 years.
New lighting in the Engine bay. Replacement of 39 florescent lights with new high efficiency LED light fixtures. The new lights will pay for themselves in less than 3 years in energy savings.
New ceiling tiles in the Engine Bay with with an R-19 insulation factor. Increased R factor will reduce our heating bill during the winter months. Along with the ceiling tiles the tracking will be repaired and painted.
A fresh coat of paint in the Engine Bay.
The Fire Company members will complete some of the prep work to reduce the cost. This will complete the three (3) year project and no additional capital expenses should be needed for at least 12 years.
Special thanks to Trustee Rich Derr and Firefighter Kevin Murray for a lot of the research.
